Max Pinckers

Max Pinckers (b.1988) is an artist based in Brussels, Belgium. His oeuvre explores visual strategies in documentary photography. Not believing in sheer objectivity or neutrality, Pinckers advocates a subjective approach, made visible through the explicit use of theatrical lighting, staged directions or extras.

Pinckers is currently a doctoral researcher and lecturer at the School of Arts / KASK, Ghent and has received multiple international awards, such as the Edward Steichen Award Luxembourg 2015 and the Leica Oskar Barnack Award (LOBA) 2018. www.maxpinckers.be
